1930s Kay Kraft Style A Venetian Vintage Archtop Acoustic Guitar
Kay Kay Kraft Venetian Style A Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1930s, made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer with stenciling finish, laminated mahogany body, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebonized maple fingerboard.
The very-innovative-for-the-time bolt-on neck is adjustable for angle, secured by a huge wing nut on neck block. This system actually works for setting the action, although it was a rather short-lived feature. The dot-inlaid fingerboard is single bound and the white pearloid headstock is adorned with a gold-painted raised "Kay Kraft" logo and edging decoration.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 14 7/16 in. (36.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 9/16 in. (9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
